The Psychiatry Division features a robust Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program and strong academic partnerships with several medical schools. We are also actively involved in community collaborations to enhance access to quality mental health services for children throughout the state.In this position, you will be part of a collaborative and mission-focused inpatient team, delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents. The role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, promoting both professional satisfaction and personal well-being.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Care:Patient Assessment:Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents admitted to the inpatient unit.Collaborate with medical, therapy, and nursing teams to review patient histories and perform diagnostic assessments.Treatment Planning:Create personalized treatment plans that include medication management, psychotherapy, and family involvement.Address any co-occurring medical and psychiatric issues.Intervention and Management:Provide crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute episodes.Monitor treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.Collaboration and Communication:Multidisciplinary Teamwork:Work closely with mental health therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.Engage in case reviews and team meetings to ensure cohesive treatment planning.Family Support:Communicate with families to educate them about their child's diagnosis and treatment plan.Provide guidance on how families can support recovery and well-being.Training and Education:Offer mentorship or supervision to fellows, residents, and medical students.Engage in continuing education to remain updated on advancements in pediatric psychiatry.Education & Licensure:Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.Completion of a residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or eligibility for certification).Valid state medical license to practice psychiatry.The staff physician will provide patient care services and support our mission of delivering hope, healing, and the highest quality healthcare for children and their families.Position Duties:Patient Care Services:Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:Direct patient care services on both inpatient and outpatient bases.Subspecialty consultations and follow-up.Diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.Urgent/emergent care as necessary.Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care.Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division-specific targets.Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality care standards.Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine.Divisional Responsibilities:Establish and work towards achieving annual physician goals and objectives.Support medical education programs and activities within the division, including:Supervising trainees and allied healthcare professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services.Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.Participating in the education and supervision of trainees and allied healthcare professionals.Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities.Support the division's research initiatives.Contribute to the programmatic growth of the division.Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate.Professionalism:Treat colleagues, staff, and patients with courtesy, dignity, and respect.Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment.Support our mission, vision, and values, including family-centered care, excellence in clinical care, leadership, collaboration, and accountability.Other Activities:Assist the Division Chief in serving as a liaison to the professional community and the public as requested.Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside the organization, particularly if they support divisional clinical and educational initiatives.Represent the organization in the medical and business communities in a professional manner.Essential physical and mental skills include:Effective communication via telephone, computer, or other devices.Ability to perform after-hours or night call responsibilities as needed.Capability to work regular scheduled hours.Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
