As a member of the corporate legal team reporting directly to the VP & Corporate Counsel, you will be a part of a small, focused Legal and Risk team, and serve as a valued partner to corporate and divisional leaders. Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice and support on a broad range of commercial and corporate governance matters facing a global supplier of manufacturing technology and services. You enjoy leading both people and projects. You are a strategic leader, with experience in an in-house legal department or a corporate law department at a law firm.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Provide commercial legal support to all departments of the businessSupport, lead and assist non-attorney Contract Managers with contract reviewsAssist BW Property Group with office lease negotiations and other legal issuesStructure, draft, negotiate and review various commercial contractsAssist with “Know Your Customer” (KYC) requests from our banking partnersPerform other duties as needed requested by executive team. Job Specifications:Results-oriented, highly collaborative, pragmatic, flexible, takes initiative, and creativeSound legal reasoning, thoroughness, and excellent legal writing skills and presentation skillsCapable of building partnerships internally, building teams and effectively operating within teamsUnderstand business drivers and adapt legal solutions to achieve themNavigate effectively in matrix organization, as well as ability to make decisions on incomplete or conflicting informationDistill complex legal problems into easily understood language with straightforward, practical solutions tailored to business needsBuild and maintain relationships with senior members of operating entitiesAbility to handle multiple competing prioritiesAdministrative self-sufficiencyRequired Education and Experience:JD Degree (required)Licensed in at least one state in the U.S. (required)Minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience preferred. Preferred background in corporate law, commercial finance and real estate matters within a law firm or an in-house legal department setting. Supervisory/Responsibility:Supervise paralegal in corporate governance reporting and filing responsibilities.Travel:Occasional domestic and/or global travel may be required for this position (no more than 10%).Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of the those performed in the job duties.
