Learn more at www.xerox.com and explore our commitment to diversity and inclusion.Job Summary:The Senior Database Administrator responsibilities include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance and monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs. In addition to responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with application developers and systems engineers to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.Duties and responsibilities:Microsoft SQL Server Database AdministrationTroubleshooting and resolving database problemsPerformance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting toolsError identification, analysis and remediationAssistance with backups, restores, replication and recovery modelsSQL reporting and SSIS packagesDeveloping SQL Jobs for data exports, data purges, error monitoring and investigate/resolve job failuresPerforming High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server, including database clustering and log shippingImplementing operational automation using scriptsUse of indexes, index management, and statisticsQualifications:Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred7+ years IT operations with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices7+ years Microsoft SQL Server experienceAn understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environmentsExperience with data management and data processing techniquesKnowledge of reporting and query tools and practicesApplication development experience in one or more of the following technologies: MS Commerce Server, Content Management Systems, .NET, AJAX and jQueryBe an active member of the application deployment team and periodically responsible for deploying code to Test, UAT, or productionExperience working in an enterprise level eCommerce environmentInvolvement with the MS SQL Server Community; active in forums or newsgroups.Additional requirements:Strong communication skillsExcellent customer relationship skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced team environmentProficient in Microsoft OfficeWorking conditions:Occasional travel to clients for meetings and onsite work
