PCB Applications Engineer
Our client, a 30-year established provider of printed circuit board (PCB) solutions, is seeking a PCB Applications Engineer to serve as the technical liaison between their customers, internal sales team, and fabrication partners. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering long-term stability with a small, tight-knit engineering team in a growing organization.The RoleYou'll be the technical owner of the customer order workflow - from quote review through production release. You'll review customer Gerber and ODB++ data, coordinate with both domestic and offshore fabrication facilities, manage engineering questions (EQs) end-to-end, and ensure every project's specialized requirements are clearly communicated and executed.This role is ideal for an experienced CAM Engineer or Front-End Engineer who enjoys solving technical puzzles, thrives on cross-stakeholder coordination, and takes pride in keeping complex projects moving cleanly from start to finish.What You'll DoCustomer QuotationsReview incoming documentation packages (Gerbers, ODB++, fab drawings) for accuracy and completenessExtract design rules and complete internal quote formsIdentify specialized requirements and convey them to fabrication partnersDetermine panelization needs and recommend the appropriate fabrication facilityPrepare fabrication drawings and supporting documentation for the project folderCustomer OrdersConfirm the most current revision is released to the fabrication facilityCoordinate pre-production engineering and CAM workflows with fab partnersCommunicate special project requirements: x-outs, packaging, labeling, quality documentation, Certificates of Conformance, etc.Serve as the central technical point of contact, keeping Sales and Inside Sales informed throughoutEngineering Questions (EQs)Review all EQs received from fabrication facilitiesRelay EQs to customers and own each one through to resolutionMaintain a clean tracking system for open EQs through production releaseRelease orders to production once EQs are resolved and communicate status to SalesMaintain thorough records of all project-related communicationDFM & Special RequirementsCoordinate specialized technical requirements across customer, fabrication facility, and internal teamsManage deliverables such as panel array approvals and check-plotsSupport Design for Manufacturing (DFM) efforts as the bridge between customer engineers and fab capabilitiesWhat We're Looking ForHands-on experience in PCB front-end engineering, CAM, DFM, or pre-production engineering at a PCB fabrication facility or PCB brokerFluency with PCB CAM software (Genesis 2000, InCAM, Valor, CAM350, or similar)Working knowledge of fabrication drawings, IPC specifications, materials, stackups, and panelizationTrack record of writing and resolving EQs with customersComfortable communicating directly with customer engineers on technical decisionsStrong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneouslySelf-directed; comfortable working in a small, distributed team without close oversightNice to HaveExperience coordinating with offshore (Asia-based) fabrication partnersMulti-fab exposure across different PCB shopsBackground in stackup design or impedance calculationsWhy ApplyDirect hire, permanent role with full benefitsFully remote with full US geographic flexibilitySmall, collaborative engineering team where your work has visible impactEstablished 30-year company with a stable, technically engaging customer base spanning medical, aerospace, telecom, and industrial marketsReal ownership of customer relationships and project work - not buried in a large fab hierarchy
