Preschool Lead Teacher
Job Description
Salary: Starting $20 per hourJOB DESCRIPTION**PART TIME AND FULL TIME POSITIONSThe lead teacher ensures the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, physical, and educational needs. The lead teacher utilizes best developmentally appropriate practice methods at all times. They are a positive role model for all care giving staff and children. Furthermore, they are customer service orientated and professional.DUTIESEngage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.Assist children with activities and daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing)Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times.Approach parents daily with them about their child.Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide qualitycare and friendly service.Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, clutter-free, andsafe for all children.Supervise teacher assistants in the classroom and ensure they are following programpolicy and customer service expectations.Train any teacher assistants in the classroom and direct them as to what duties needto be carried out throughout the day.Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences.Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events thatmay be on nights and/or weekend-ends.Prepare monthly parent newsletters and weekly lesson plans.Be responsible for daily recording of activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, anddiaper changing.Maintain a professional self image and project the value of the organization at allQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSHave a high school diploma or equivalent educationHave completed or able to enroll in the required ECE courses to be a qualified teacher.Be CPR, First Aid, Health/Safety, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified.Complete a TB test and physical.Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children alone in onePossess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences.Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.Willing to fulfill the responsibilities in accordance with the Churchs educational philosophyDemonstrate the fruit of the Spirit as evidence of a growing Christ-centered life (Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 5:18-21)Be teachable and faithful in learning from and following those in authority over him/her and fully supporting the vision of Crossline Church.Fulfill the duties required of Crossline Church members as outlined in the membership covenant.Philosophical alignment with church leadershipCommitted to continued developmentClear Live Scan and Criminal BackgroundHours may vary as needed; center open from 7am-6pmADDITIONALLY ALL CHURCH STAFF MEMBERS:Love Jesus and call themselves Christians.Embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle.Agree to and adhere to the church's statement of faith and leadership commitment.Attend Crossline Community ChurchSPECIAL SKILLS NEEDEDBe able to knee, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.LINES OF SUPERVISIONLead teachers report directly to the director/assistant director with questions or concerns regarding the children or center policy.
