Our team enjoys a clean, growth focused environment with a Monday through Friday schedule.Position: Paint Parts PrepperReports To: Director of OperationsStatus: Hourly, Non-ExemptShift: 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMPay Range: 18.00 - 23.00BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:The Paint Parts Prepper prepares parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, and fixing surface imperfections. This ensures parts are ready for a high-quality paint finish.GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:Clean and degrease parts before painting.Inspect surfaces for rust, damage, or defects.Sand and scrape surfaces to remove old paint or rough areas.Fill dents, cracks, and imperfections.Mask areas that should not be painted.Help mix and prepare primer or paint.Keep work area clean and organized.Follow all safety rules and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.Good attention to detail.Basic knowledge of surface prep or painting processes preferred.Ability to use hand tools and sanding equipment.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good hand-eye coordination.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in painting, prep work, or manufacturing preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for long periods of time.Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.Good vision for inspecting small surface defects.Work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and paint materials.Must be able to wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
