Job Requisition ID #26WD98465Position OverviewAutodesk is looking for a Senior Network DevOps Engineer to join the Global Network Engineering team. The ideal candidate combines strong networking fundamentals with modern DevOps practices, cloud architecture expertise, infrastructure automation, software development skills, and technical leadership. This role is responsible for helping define and drive Autodesk's global cloud networking, automation, and infrastructure engineering strategy.The team is crucial to the design & deployment of a consistent, stable infrastructure that both meets network engineering design standards and product goals. As a member of the Network Engineering Team, you will maintain advanced networking and security technologies. You will troubleshoot, implement, and improve standards, implementations, and procedures related to cloud and networking technologies, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, LAN/WAN, cloud connectivity, load balancers, firewalls, and network automation platforms. You will participate in cross-team and organizational projects, designing, documenting, and implementing new, secure, and automated networking solutions.ResponsibilitiesImprove and engage in the entire lifecycle of a network, including inception, network design, qualification, deployment, operation, and optimizationWork on implementation of Autodesk’s Global Networking backbone strategic infrastructure initiativesDefine and drive the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for Autodesk’s global network and cloud connectivity platformsCreate and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standardsEstablish engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices for network automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud networkingWork closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at outstanding volumeDesign, develop, and maintain network automation solutions using Python, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD methodologiesAutomate networking related tasks and build self-service toolsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologiesPartner with Cloud Engineering, SRE, Platform Engineering, and Security teams to deliver scalable cloud networking solutionsManage an enterprise scale SASE solutionEvaluate and implement AI-assisted and Agentic AI solutions to improve network operations, observability, troubleshooting, and automationLead cross-functional initiatives spanning Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Security, SRE, Platform Engineering, and AI teamsServe as a technical leader and trusted advisor for networking, automation, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure decisions across the organizationParticipate in organizational objective planning sessionsManage relationships with third party vendorsCross-train, mentor, and develop teammates while influencing technical direction across multiple teamsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent work experience3 - 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, network automation, DevOps, platform engineering, or related engineering disciplinesStrong understanding of cloud networking architectures and hybrid connectivity solutionsStrong proficiency in Python and network automation frameworks such as AnsibleExperience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and Infrastructure-as-CodeExperience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code technologiesExperience with BGP peering, routing, and connectivity management in cloud and enterprise environmentsKnowledge of AWS and Azure networking design and servicesAble to design, secure, and automate AWS networking infrastructureDemonstrated history of AWS experience with Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Lambda, Route 53, VPC, Cloud WAN, and related networking servicesExperience designing and implementing Azure networking solutions including VNets, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Azure DNSExperience building and maintaining automation workflows and self-service infrastructure platformsFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools and Agentic AI conceptsExperience integrating APIs and automating infrastructure operations at scaleGood level of proficiency and experience with TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies, such as BGP, DNS, IPsec, MPLS, and cloud networking conceptsKnowledge of firewalls, security configurations, and troubleshootingProven experience leading large-scale infrastructure initiatives and influencing technical strategy across multiple teamsDemonstrated experience architecting enterprise-scale cloud networking and automation platformsStrong software engineering mindset with experience building production automation systems and platformsProven ability to work effectively within an Agile frameworkSkilled at presenting technical policies, proposals, and designsClear communicator with a positive attitudeAbility to manage long term, project/milestone-based work with multiple teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Agentic AI frameworks, AI-powered operations, or LLM-based automation solutionsExperience leading enterprise adoption of AI-assisted operations, Agentic AI, or intelligent automation platformsExperience building internal developer platforms and self-service infrastructure solutionsExperience with Kubernetes networking and cloud-native infrastructureExperience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platformsAWS Solutions Architect AssociateCisco CCNALearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $95,000 and $170,610. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
