*Position Overview:* *Position Overview:* We are currently looking for *one* dedicated individual to join our team in the role of *Structural Engineer Associate*. The Structural Engineer Associate will support Maintenance & Operations (M&O) – A&E Services by performing structural engineering work related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of District facilities. Responsibilities include preparing, analyzing, and reviewing structural plans, specifications, calculations, estimates, and reports; conducting site investigations; reviewing structural work for compliance with applicable standards; and providing technical recommendations to architects, engineers, contractors, and construction inspectors. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of *three (3) years of full-time paid professional structural engineering experience* and a bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering. Experience with *school building construction* and possession of a *California Professional Engineer (PE) certification* are preferred. *Key Responsibilities:*
* Prepare, analyze, and review structural engineering plans, specifications, calculations, estimates, and reports.
* Review structural engineering services performed by consultants and architects and provide recommendations or revisions as needed.
* Assist with structural design and layout of foundations, floors, walls, roofs, and framing systems for major building structures.
* Review structural plans, specifications, mathematical calculations, and alternative construction methods.
* Evaluate completed structural work for conformance with applicable standards, constructability, completeness, and accuracy.
* Provide structural recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers, and construction inspectors during construction.
* Review soils testing data and environmental documentation and provide recommendations related to foundation design.
* Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary designs, conceptual and detailed cost estimates, and technical reports.
* Conduct site investigations and prepare scoping reports, findings, and recommendations.
* Assist engineering and design teams with project status reviews, design changes, and resolution of structural issues.
* Performs other duties as assigned

*Minimum Requirements:*
*Required Experience:*
* Minimum of *three (3) years of full-time, paid professional structural engineering experience*.
* Experience involving *school building construction is preferred*.
*Required Education:*
* Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in *Structural Engineering* or *Civil Engineering with a specialization/emphasis in structural engineering coursework*.
*Preferred Education:*
* A masters degree in Architecture or Engineering
*Preferred Licenses and Certificates:*
* California *Professional Engineer (PE)* certification recognized by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists is preferred.
