As part of S&B USA Construction, Fay pairs a field driven culture with the strength and resources of a larger organizationdelivering local execution with national scale.Basic Position Summary: Direct all field construction activities and personnel to ensure that the assigned project meets budget, schedule and safety objectivesResponsibilities/Functions:Plans and supervises all activities including determining method of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment and work scheduleTrains and manages Foremen from various trades and field administrative personnelThrough assigned Foremen, manages the day-to-day activities of the construction operationIn conjunction with the Project Manager, creates and maintains project schedule, plans, monitors and reviews critical path dates and milestone schedulesCommunicates site problems, conflicts, schedule and quality issues effectively to the Project Manager and ownerResolves field construction problemsMaintains open communication between all subcontractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and project scheduleMonitors Foremen & subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements; ensures that weekly safety inspections and toolbox talks are completed; ensures that corrective measures are implementedAssists the Safety Department in performing incident and/or accident investigations and follow-upUnderstands all subcontractors' scopes; assures subcontractors maintain schedules, and quality standards meet contract requirementsAssists the Project Manager with subcontractor disputes, quality control and schedule coordinationWorks with the Project Manager and owner's representatives to ensure work complies with drawings and specificationsSupports the Project Manager in the negotiation of claims and changesProvides input to Project Manager regarding cost and schedule forecastsAssists the Project Manager with review (% complete) of monthly pay requests submitted by contractorsAssists the Project Manager with Change Order reviewPerforms project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely mannerMonitors staffing levels that contribute to EEO goals for minorities and femalesMentors Project Engineers assigned to the projectPerforms additional assignments per supervisor's directionEnsure that foremen or self does daily recording of quantities, time and daily logs in Heavy Job.Essential Skills and Experience:A minimum of eight years' experience on Demolition, Heavy Civil and/or Heavy Highway construction projects in a General Foreman or Craft Superintendent positionKnowledge of Crane and Hoisting Equipment.Ability to read and interpret construction documentsEffective communication skillsKnowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise small to midsized groupsGood organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making abilityBasic computer skills preferredAbility to manage Pile Driving operations (H-pile, Pipe Pile, Timber Pile, Sheet Pile)Ability to form and place concrete.Ability to set up Deck Screed Machines.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Carry tools and equipment, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction), stand; walk, (stand for long periods of time) handle, or feel; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects. The employee must frequently work or walk on uneven ground and is required to wear steel toed boots at all times. It is mandatory that the employee wear approved personal protective equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Perform a variety of duties while exposed to outside elements or confined spaces. Repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures and evaluate information using measurable.
