Position Purpose and ObjectivesWork in an energetic & enthusiastic fast-paced sales environment. Keep your performance standards the best, by constantly improving and developing sales efforts, techniques, and presentations. The primary purpose of the Sales Consultant is to assist with various responsibilities including communicating with customers and members in person, over the phone, or via email regarding vehicles for sale in our inventory. Sales Consultants will be presenting vehicle pricing, and trade-in values, discussing potential finance options, riding with customers for demonstration drives, driving vehicles to get fuel, helping get vehicles ready for delivery, and driving vehicles to customers. Must be able to present a professional and pleasant experience while taking on the role as a Sales Consultant customer-facing representative. Must have goal-oriented motivator behaviors to ensure organizational sales goals and objectives are not just achieved but exceeded.Major Duties and Essential FunctionsProspecting new sales opportunitiesAnswer customer/member's questions about auto units, financing, and purchase processDeliver with confidence, in explaining Market Driven Prices on vehicles and explain trade-in values that satisfy customers while ensuring profit for the dealershipBase knowledge of the Automotive IndustryDesking for profitable deals to maximize front and back-end profitAbility to manage and follow up on leads by creating a relationship and delivering on commitmentsAchieve monthly goals and department objectivesStrong customer service skills with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and communicationAbility to change priorities quickly as time-sensitive needs ariseFamiliarity with consumer lending products and practicesHigh-level mental fortitudeFollow up with the loan and ancillary product cancellationsEnsure compliance with all rules and regulations to prevent penalty, loss for non-compliance, or potential legal action against the Credit UnionAbility to generate internal referrals using a consultative approachMaintain clean paperwork and timely completion of fundingAbility to understand tag and title laws; DMV, dealership contracts, and ancillary productsAbility to maintain confidentialityAll other duties as assignedPositions directly supervised : N/ASpecific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including use of courtesy and correct grammarStrong Sales recordIn-depth knowledge of dealership's vehicles, finance options, and sales processSound judgment and decision-making abilities to avoid actions that could be costly, time- consuming, and create poor relations with membersStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to adjust to a quickly changing environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible and changing work hours/days.Ability to interact with diverse groups of people across all levelsAbility to take responsibility for individual performance and developmentAbility to develop member relationships to effectively cross-sell products or servicesThis position the incumbent to be on his/her feet most of the dayValid driver's license and clean driving record (no major violations)Office Machines and Software:Auto /Dealer trace/ Dealer socketInteractive Intelligence phone w/headsetInteractive Intelligence softwarePersonal Computer/PrinterCalculator/Adding MachineFax MachineMicrosoft Outlook E-MailMicrosoft Word, Excel, PowerPointEducation : Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with four years of lending/Sales experience in a credit union or dealership or other financial institution is preferred.Experience : Must have a minimum of 2 plus years' experience in a sales environment, with a proven record of success. Additionally, have a thorough understanding of automobile dealership Sales and Finance departments operation a plus. Sales skills developed through formal training, along with presentation skills required to deliver product.
