Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Cherry Picker Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo machinery to efficiently pick, load, and unload materials within a warehouse distribution environment. Your expertise will ensure smooth order fulfillment, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, warehouse experience, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
Operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to fulfill order picking and material handling tasks
Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment while adhering to OSHA safety regulations
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues
Manage inventory movement within the warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring accuracy in stock levels and location tracking
Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch or receipt
Support warehouse distribution activities through precise order picking and packing
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational procedures
Use basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation
Operate pallet jacks and other manual handling tools as needed for materials movement
Experience
Proven experience operating reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picker technology
Prior warehouse experience involving shipping & receiving, order picking, and materials handling
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols
Mechanical aptitude for equipment repair or troubleshooting minor issues
Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes and inventory control practices
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory management tasks
Experience working under the supervision of a warehouse manager or supervisor is preferred
Valid certification or licensing for forklift or heavy equipment operation is highly desirable
