Part-Time Mid-Day Bus Monitor

NATURE OF WORK:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. An employee in this role would need to monitor student behavior and attend to the needs of the exceptional students while they are using the school buses. A detailed list of duties and responsiblities will be given by direct supervisor.SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:Assist exceptional students in manipulating equipment equipment they must use on the bus and/or entering and exiting the bus.Assist in seating students in their assigned locations.Monitors student behaviors while on the bus.Reports problems and concerns of tudents to the designated authority.Intervenes if conflict occursClerical/Technical Assistance:Skill in lifting and placing students comfortablySkill in accurately operating and adjusting the special equipment usedAbility to learn and remember the bus route if neededAbility to understand the individual needs of exceptional students.Professionalism:Treat students with dignity and respect at all timesMaintain a good attendance record and demonstrate the ability to be punctualCommunicate all concerns and problems to the teacher and/or principal in a timely mannerDemonstrate best practices in the delivery of services (e.g. age appropriateness, normalization, self-determination, etc.)Attend all scheduled staff development and training sessionsDISCLAIMER
