Position Type:Elementary School Teaching/Student Support ProviderDate Posted:5/8/2026Location:Zimmerman Elementary SchoolDate Available:2026-2027 School YearClosing Date: Until FilledDescription:As a vital member of the Support Services Team, the Student Support Provider fosters a safe and caring learning environment in ISD 728 elementary schools to promote students' academic, social, and emotional success. This role emphasizes collaboration, crisis intervention, and individualized student support to address barriers to learning.Job Summary:Work closely with administrators, teachers, and support staff to develop and implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), addressing students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs across all three tiers of the framework.Provide coaching and support, as needed, to classroom teachers who are responsible for delivering the core curriculum lessons on topics such as bullying prevention and social-emotional learning skills.Deliver individual and small group social-emotional services for students.Enhance students' problem-solving, conflict resolution, and emotion management skills through targeted interventions.Assist with individual student academic and social-emotional-behavioral program planning.Meet with students to address attendance issues and other challenges impacting academic success.Provide attendance and behavior support interventions.Help students and families cope with family changes, losses, and other life stressors.Connect families with appropriate community resources.Provide daily support during crisis response.Conduct suicide and threat assessments.Serve as a member of the flight team to respond to school-wide crises.Act as a liaison between home, school, and community to support students' academic and social success.Coordinate school-based co-located therapy services.Coordinate homebound/home-based services.Consult with external therapy providers and placements to ensure comprehensive student support.Collaborate with special education case managers, general education teachers, assistants, and administrators to provide services outlined in students' IEPs, 504, or intervention plans.Attend IEP meetings as needed.Provide direct instruction and indirect support for students with identified social-emotional needs as outlined in their evaluation plans and IEPs.Manage 504 plans and facilitate services and accommodations for eligible students.Serve as an active member of the Student Support Team to design and implement intervention plans to ensure student success.Offer individual and group sessions to meet students' social work minutes and other identified needs.Qualifications:Minimum RequirementsBS in Social Work - Social WorkerMA/MS in School Counseling - CounselorMN Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board License (PELSB) in School Social Work or School CounselingLicense with Minnesota Board of Social Work (MN BOSW), is Social WorkerPreferred Requirements MA/MS in School Social Work (for social work applicants only)Major field of study or degree emphasis in Social Work or School CounselingStrong interpersonal and collaboration skillsAbility to handle crisis situations effectively and compassionately.Knowledge of social-emotional learning frameworks and mental health resourcesFamiliarity with Section 504 and IEP processesCommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school cultureSkilled in:individual and group skills facilitation oral communicationwritten communicationhuman relations problem solvingleadershipconflict resolutionde-escalation strategiescrisis response, including physical holdsindependent workcollaborative workuse of technology in the instructional processApplication Procedure:Apply onlineAttachment(s):2025-2027 Salary ScheduleStudent Support Provider Job Description.docx
