RPG Developer

We are seeking an IBM i / RPG Lead Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of critical IBM i (AS/400) applications and database systems. This role will serve as a technical lead for RPG development initiatives while supporting modernization efforts and long-term enterprise systems.This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term stability, technical ownership, and the ability to work on complex back-office systems in a collaborative environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platformServe as the technical lead for RPG development effortsWork independently on complex enhancements and production supportMentor junior developersParticipate in application architecture, modernization efforts, and technical planningSupport and improve long-running back office systemsOther duties as requiredQualificationsExtensive hands-on IBM i experience (AS/400)Strong background in RPG / RPGLE (free-form preferred)Strong CL/CLLE skillsSolid knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) DB2 and SQLExperience maintaining and enhancing accounting/costing systemsAbility to work independently with minimal oversightLong-term ownership mindset for legacy systemsExperience integrating IBM i applications with other systemsFamiliarity with modern development practices including source control, documentation, and coding standardsRegular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as requiredAdditional DetailsContract-to-hire opportunityOnsite role located in Fort WayneRelocation assistance available for qualified candidatesOpportunity to lead modernization initiatives within a stable enterprise environment
