PostgreSQL Senior Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Plano, TX (Mandatory) – Hybrid Model Duration: Long Term Contract – CTH Only Need W2 Resources📌 Interested candidates: Please share your updated resume highlighting your experience with database automation, AWS migrations, Infrastructure as Code, database optimization, and technical leadership.We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator / Database Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise database platforms, automation, cloud migration, and DevOps practices.🔹 Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions.Manage PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS platforms.Plan and execute database migrations, including on-premises to AWS RDS/Aurora, upgrades, and cross-platform migrations with minimal downtime.Drive database automation, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps initiatives.Develop scripts and tools using Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation, monitoring, and performance tuning.Troubleshoot complex database issues and perform root-cause analysis.Lead database optimization, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery initiatives.Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and other cross-functional teams.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to database/development teams.🔹 Required Technical SkillsStrong database administration and development experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent.Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Aurora.Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.Strong scripting/automation skills: Python, PowerShell, Bash.Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.Strong understanding of database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.Experience with database schema and data migration strategies.🔹 Experience & Qualifications8–10 years of progressive experience in database administration, development, engineering, or technical leadership.Proven experience delivering enterprise database projects with measurable business impact.Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
