Database Developer
Venesco LLC is looking for a Database Developer preferably with military health experience.
In this role you coordinate with the Analysis of Waiver Risk Evidence (AWARE) data team to design, conduct, and lead visual and data analyses of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the DAF total force population, as well as use judgement and originality in developing innovative approaches to define and resolve highly complex situations.. Responsibilities:
2.2.1 The contractor shall coordinate with the AWARE data team to develop data processes which access, acquire, transform, and rationalize data from various Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE) sources into usable maintained data sets monthly.
2.2.2 The contractor shall identify databases required for AWARE analyses from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) AVHE, coordinate with the DHA IT to ensure connection to those databases, develop the appropriate queries and processes to allow that data to be accessed, operate the queries to pull the data into accessible datasets for analysis, and ensure the stability, validity and quality of the data pulled through consistently and rigorously applied validation processes.
2.2.3 The contractor shall acquire knowledge/expertise in the data sets they create, and the DHA data sources they are based on, and provide such knowledge and expertise to analysts as is necessary to ensure analysis is reliable, feasible and completed in a timely manner.
2.2.4 The contractor shall draft reports, prepare, and/or present reports, documents, and/or presentations pertaining to the status of the studies as requested, and meet AWARE project suspenses.
2.2.5 The contractor shall present results of studies or investigations through briefings, technical reports, and publication into scientific journals.
2.2.6 The contractor shall assist in the development of end products such as reports, white papers and briefings.
2.2.7 The contractor shall provide consultation support to the AMWD regarding data products produced by AWARE and other areas within the specified range of their expertise, as needed.
2.2.8 The contract shall interface with USAFSAM/FESO leadership and staff.
Requirements:
Mandatory Qualifications
2.1.1.1 The contractor shall possess a master’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or statistics with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of expertise.
2.1.1.2 The contractor shall demonstrate advanced skills in database creation, maintenance, validation, and design.
2.1.1.3 The contractor shall demonstrate advanced skills in SQL or a SQL-based programming language.
2.1.1.4 The contractor shall demonstrate proficiency in Statistical Analysis System/Enterprise Guide (SAS/EG).
2.1.1.5 The contractor shall be current in Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training to be able to access and process identified medical data.
2.1.1.6 The contractor shall have a signed NDA in place based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the government Program Manager by start of performance.
Desired Qualifications
2.1.2.1 Experience working with medical data is highly desired.
2.1.2.2 Experience working with statistics is highly desired.
2.1.2.3 Experience within a health and visual analytics related field and working with DAF related data is desired.
