They are looking for someone to focus on siting and permitting of electric transmission lines, electric distribution lines and natural gas pipelines. The initial focus of this work is on Article VII and Article VIII siting. This role offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex infrastructure projects, navigate permitting requirements, and represent stakeholders before regulatory agencies.Key Responsibilities:Provide counsel on siting, permitting, and development of electric transmission lines, infrastructure and gas pipelines.Represent clients before the New York State Public Service Commission, Department of Public Service, and other siting regulatory bodies.Draft and review applications, permits, and compliance filings under Article VII and Article VII and related statutes.Conduct environmental and land use reviews under SEQRA.Advise on stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and risk management.Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and project managers to ensure application development compliance.Provide litigation support in administrative hearings or disputes.Monitor evolving energy policies and advise clients on implications.What You’ll BringJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in New York State (or ability to obtain admission promptly).3-7 years of experience in electric transmission and generation siting with demonstrated knowledge of environmental and utility law components. Knowledge of gas pipeline siting a plus.Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.Experience working with regulatory agencies and multidisciplinary teams, including external engineering firms.Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.Preferred ExperiencePrior work on major transmission or gas pipeline projects in New York.Familiarity with renewable energy siting and integration with transmission infrastructure.Background in administrative law or environmental litigation.
