Wargame Developer
Role: Wargame Developer responsible for advancing digital wargaming capabilities to support senior military decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop physical and digital player aids, reference guides, and interactive interfaces.Develop, maintain, and archive simulation databases using government-provided modeling and simulation tools.Create interfaces for modeling and simulation tools, translating technical outputs into actionable narratives for senior leaders.Facilitate the transition from traditional tabletop exercises to digital environments, promoting new tool utilization.Support analysts in capturing decision data and telemetry for post-game analysis.Collaborate with designers to refine game mechanics reflecting Marine Corps capabilities and ensure usability for senior stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 4+ years’ experience in wargaming, military modeling, or operations; or 10+ years’ related experience without degree.Proficiency with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint).Ability to quickly learn and operate new simulation tools.Experience developing player-facing products, manuals, or reference guides.Preferred SkillsExperience with transition from analog to digital exercises.Familiarity with government simulation platforms like AFSIM or Command PE.Support experience with Marine Corps or federal wargaming entities.Research capabilities for data inputs and collaboration with intelligence branches.Knowledge of government and commercial game engines.Clearance: Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance.Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual labor, lift up to 50 pounds, and remain stationary for periods.
