Position Overview
The Facilities Manager – West is responsible for overseeing facilities operations across 14 Learning Jungle centers in the West Region, including San Diego, Sacramento, and Las Vegas. This role ensures all facilities are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and cost-effective while partnering closely with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders. The scope of this role aligns with the current Director of Facilities position, which will transition to Facilities Manager – East upon hire.
This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, with the expectation of traveling to centers as needed to support operations, projects, and urgent facilities needs. The ideal location for this role is the San Diego area, though candidates in Sacramento or surrounding cities may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Issue Management
Monitor and manage center-level facilities issues.
Dispatch and coordinate service requests to ensure tickets are resolved in alignment with Learning Jungle service level agreements.
Serve as an escalation point for urgent or complex facilities matters.
Vendor & Contract Management
Source, negotiate, manage, and own contracts with vendors (e.g., cleaning, landscaping, maintenance, repairs).
Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Preventative Maintenance
Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules across all assigned centers.
Ensure facilities, equipment, and systems meet health, safety, and licensing requirements.
Budgeting & Expense Management
Manage facilities and maintenance budgets for the West Region.
Track expenses, review invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
Reporting & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate records of facilities-related invoices, payments, contracts, and operational data.
Provide regular reporting to leadership on facilities performance, expenses, and project status.
Project Management
Partner with architects, contractors, and vendors on construction projects, renovations, and remodels.
Oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and standards are met.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in facilities management, property management, or a similar operational role.
Experience managing vendors, budgets, and multiple facilities across different locations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment.
Willingness and ability to travel to centers as needed.
Experience supporting regulated environments (childcare, education, healthcare, or similar).
Familiarity with facilities ticketing or work order systems.
Experience managing renovations or multi-site construction projects.
