Position InformationClassification Title Instructional Techno Pro II FLSA Exempt FTE 1.00 Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experiencePreferred Qualifications Position SummaryThe University of Georgia seeks an organized and thoughtful individual to join the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) as a Coordinator of Learning Technology & Team Communications. The CTL is a unit of the Office of Instruction, whose central mission is to provide university-wide leadership, collaboration, and support on matters related to instruction. The Coordinator of Learning Technology & Communications reports to the Senior Associate Director for Teaching and Learning, and collaborates with other CTL personnel.At the CTL, Coordinators work under the guidance of their supervisor to develop and execute plans and protocols for effective and efficient operations in their area. They manage and oversee the implementation of programs and services, coordinate and support external facing initiatives, cultivate and maintain relationships with individuals from campus partner units, provide training, consultations, and support for individuals across campus, collaborate with their CTL colleagues, and more.The individual filling this position will join the CTL team in supporting instruction across all UGA schools and colleges. The instructional development services that may be included in this individual's portfolio could include project management and coordination, one-on-one support for use of the learning management system, management of the CTL's Thank-a-Teacher program, maintenance of the CTL's learning management support site, coordination of the distribution of CTL faculty transcripts, and more.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesPractical knowledge of Brightspace by D2L as a tool for instruction.Ability to provide timely support for the work of others in a professional manner, including assessing/ diagnosing the need, and identifying specific ways to meet those needs.Excellent project management skills, including the ability to attend to detail and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.Excellent written communication skills and the ability to distill practical technical information for use and application by others.Ability to identify solutions to problems and challenges as they arise.Physical DemandsWork is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.Is driving a responsibility of this position? Please visit the UGA Background Check website.Duties/ResponsibilitiesDuties/Responsibilities* Apply specialized knowledge of instructional technology, including Brightspace by D2L and related learning tools, to diagnose issues, provide guidance to faculty users, and develop solutions. Exercises discretion and judgment in addressing problems, identifying appropriate solutions, and recommending improvements to CTL leadership.Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities* Develop and maintain university-wide learning technology resources, including support sites and technical documentation used by faculty and teaching assistants. Use professional discretion to interpret system updates and determine which information should be communicated to instructional stakeholders.Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities* Contribute to the development and deployment of additional resources and training sessions for the effective use of learning technology by instructional faculty and teaching assistants.
