Transportation Quality & Load Securement Inspector (QC Inspector) Department: Linehaul Operations (HPS Group) Reports To: Operations Manager Job Location: Geismar, LA Loading Site (GCP): Pass Christian, Mississippi Delivery Site (HPS On-site): Donaldsonville, Louisiana Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday – Friday GCP: 05:00 AM – 04:00 PM (10 working hours excluding 1-hour lunch break) HPS On-site: 08:00 AM – 07:00 PM (10 working hours excluding 1-hour lunch break) Saturday and holiday work may be required based on operational demand Working hours may be adjusted based on customer requirements and trucking schedules Company Overview Global Expedited Transportation Freight Corp. Position Summary The Transportation Quality & Load Securement Inspect (QC Inspector) is responsible for ensuring transportation quality, shipment integrity, loading safety, and damage-free delivery performance for concrete pile transportation operations under the HPLS Project. This role performs detailed inspections, monitors loading and unloading activities, maintains accurate documentation, and enforces quality gate control procedures at both loading and delivery sites. The position plays a critical role in preventing transportation damage, reducing delivery disputes, maintaining shipment traceability, and ensuring compliance with operational safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Pre-Loading Inspection & Shipment Readiness Control Inspect concrete piles for cracks, chips, surface defects, and dimensional non-conformance Verify product identification, markings, and shipment traceability Confirm proper yard storage condition and handling status before loading Ensure shipment readiness prior to dispatch approval Loading Safety Control & Transportation Securement Monitor loading operations to ensure safe material handling practices Verify proper stacking, blocking, bracing, and cargo securement methods Confirm truck and trailer suitability before loading approval Conduct post-loading inspections to verify cargo stability and load balance Ensure proper tie-down and restraint conditions to minimize transportation movement risk Arrival Inspection & Delivery Verification Inspect concrete piles immediately upon delivery arrival Verify transportation damage including cracks, chips, breakage, or deformation Check for load shifting, tie-down failures, or transportation handling impact Conduct final inspection following unloading completion Confirm delivery acceptance or rejection status based on inspection findings Unloading Supervision & Damage Prevention Monitor unloading activities to ensure safe operations Prevent secondary damage during unloading and material handling Verify proper product placement after unloading completion Ensure unloading procedures comply with safety and operational requirements Documentation, POD & Quality Record Management Maintain Clean Sheet, Loading Checklist, and inspection documentation Maintain POD (Proof of Delivery) records and shipment verification documents Capture and organize photo records for pre-loading, loading, delivery arrival, unloading, and damage evidence Ensure complete and accurate shipment release and delivery documentation Maintain real-time and accurate quality control records Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination Coordinate with dispatch, operations, drivers, yard personnel, customer representatives, and QC teams Provide real-time updates regarding shipment readiness and inspection status Communicate quality concerns, operational risks, and non-conformance findings promptly Support operational issue resolution through effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders Escalation & Non-Conformance Control Immediately escalate structural defects exceeding acceptance criteria Report unsafe loading or unloading practices Escalate equipment, trailer, or transportation non-compliance issues Issue or support Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when required Coordinate escalation reporting to Operations Management, Safety Management, Site Management, and Customer QC representatives Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Loading Site QC Zero-defect outbound shipment rate Zero unsafe loading incidents 100% documentation completeness (photos, checklists, clean sheets) Shipment release accuracy with zero unauthorized release errors Delivery Site QC Zero transportation damage claim rate 100% POD accuracy and documentation completeness Immediate damage detection and reporting compliance Reduction of delivery disputes and quality claims Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in quality inspection, transportation operations, construction materials, industrial logistics, or related field preferred Understanding of cargo securement, transportation safety, and material handling practices Ability to identify visible structural defects and transportation damage Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline Ability to work in outdoor operational environments and active loading/unloading areas Effective communication and coordination skills Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for documentation and photo reporting Preferred Qualifications Experience in industrial transportation, heavy haul, steel, concrete, or construction material operations Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA cargo securement requirements Experience working at plant sites, yards, ports, or industrial project environments Experience with inspection reporting and quality documentation systems General Requirements Strict compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards Professional communication with all stakeholders Commitment to real-time and accurate documentation practices Strong safety and quality gatekeeping mindset Ability to respond quickly to operational risks and non-conformance situations Continuous improvement mindset focused on defect prevention and operational excellence Compensation & Benefits Medical Insurance: 85% company-paid Dental & Vision Insurance: 80% company-paid Life, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD): 100% company-paid Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours annually Sick Leave: 40 hours annually Paid Holidays: 11days annually Retirement Plan: 401(k) with 4% of company match
