Customs Brokerage Supervisor

Seko – CVG Branch – Customs Brokerage Supervisor ResponsibilitiesWork directly with the Director of Compliance and Brokerage to ensure the team is compliant with US Customs regulationsAuditing of customs entries completed by entry writers Payment of statement daily Classification assistance for customersSupervise entry team, answering questions as necessary Keep up to date on regulations and compliance that impacts our branches Monitor work loads and volume Supervisor must be knowledgeable in all aspects of what the entry writer does including but not limited toOpen new ISF jobs and manage all the crucial details. File entries with U.S. Customs, ensuring smooth and compliant cargo processing. Ensure every commercial invoice meets CBP regulations. Communicate documentation discrepancies to client and supervisor.Review shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.Track and monitor the status of import shipments.Work closely with customs broker and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth clearance of imported goods, resolving any customs-related issues or discrepancies as needed.Collaborate with internal departments to address client inquiries, provide support, and resolve shipment-related issues.Coordinate freight delivery to designated locations.Scan entries into the imaging system meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.Qualifications Must have at least 5 years of experience with US Customs and entry filing (all modes of transportation) Must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience MultitaskingProficient with Microsoft Office. Detail oriented, organized and able to effectively manage multiple prioritiesEffective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both orally and in writingHigh level of customer serviceAbility to work independently, set deadlines, and nail them. CargoWise experience is a plus Familiarity with USHTS and Customs Regulations is required Knowledge of Other Government Agencies and associated requirements Licensed Broker, preferred Daily Tasks Management of the teamWorking directly with the customs directorWorking with customers to answer questions, provide updates as needed Supervisor must be able to jump in and complete tasks as needed, including entry writingInbound shipment process adherence to the local customs authority and any other government agencies which may have jurisdictionDuties include providing a high level of customer service and problem resolution in order to ensure timely customs releaseProcess customs entries and all other related government agency interfaces that may applyMeet service level requirements in accordance to the client standard operating procedure (SOP)Meet entry preparation and submission requirements based on client SOP, product service level and/or country and government agency requirementsPrioritize work based on estimated time of arrival (ETA), product service level, workflow processes, last free day and transportation modeClassify entry per client SOP, Parts Database, and/or direction from licensed customs brokerEnter required shipment data and customs data into the brokerage systemProvide excellent and timely customer service by proactively informing clients of the status of their shipments using judgment and knowledge, referring more technical questions to the licensed broker for responseProactively work with government agencies and customs authorities to resolve issues
