Job Title: Inventory and Procurement Specialist Location: Remote w/ some travel to warehouse 3-4 times a year. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Inventory and Procurement Specialist to oversee our inventory and procurement functions. This role will focus on coordinating the purchasing and flow of product production to maximize cash flow and enhance the timing of all orders and order builds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, procurement, and supply chain optimization. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory. Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchase orders and production schedules to align with demand forecasts and sales trends. Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement. Procurement Coordination: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and purchase order creation. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials. Review and approve purchase orders and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget constraints. Production and Order Flow Optimization: Coordinate with production teams to align inventory levels with production schedules and order fulfillment requirements. Develop and implement strategies to improve the timing and efficiency of order builds and product production. Monitor and analyze production performance metrics to identify and address bottlenecks or delays in the supply chain. Cash Flow Management: Develop strategies to optimize cash flow by balancing inventory investments with procurement costs and sales revenue. Implement processes to reduce carrying costs and minimize obsolete inventory. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to align inventory and procurement activities with budgetary goals and financial forecasts. Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize inventory management software and tools to track inventory levels, order status, and procurement activities. Prepare and present reports on inventory and procurement performance, including key metrics and recommendations for improvement. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in inventory and procurement processes. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of inventory and procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and finance, to align inventory and procurement strategies with overall business objectives. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the inventory and procurement department. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPM, APICS) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or supply chain roles, with a proven track record of success. Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, procurement practices, and supply chain optimization. Proficiency in inventory management software and tools, with advanced Excel skills and experience in data analysis. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and remotely, with strong organizational and time-management skills. Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and a focus on continuous improvement. History using Netsuite (Oracle) CRM and warehouse management software is preferred.
