Vice President of Operations

Established in 1937, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking an innovative and strategic leader to join our team as the Vice President of Operations. Position Overview: The Vice President of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the efficient execution of projects across the organization. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of steel fabrication processes, project management, and organizational leadership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies that enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee all operational aspects of the company, including production, project management, estimating, and supply chain management. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency and ensure high-quality outputs. Collaborate with senior leadership to establish strategic goals and objectives that align with the company’s vision and growth plans. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork across all operational teams. Lead and mentor department managers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and capabilities. Cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners to ensure effective collaboration and support for operational goals. Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency and support the company’s growth. Prepare and present reports to the executive team and board of directors on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities. Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience: Proven experience in operations management within the steel fabrication or manufacturing industry, ideally with 10+ years in progressively responsible roles. Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, project management, and estimating. Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset. Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and cost control. Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics to drive operational improvements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 10+ years of experience in operations management, with significant experience in the steel fabrication industry.
