General Laborer

Job Description Job SummaryThe General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily operations throughout the shop and facility by safely moving materials, assisting with maintenance tasks, and performing general cleaning and upkeep projects. This role helps maintain an organized, efficient, and safe working environment for production and operations teams.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMove raw materials, parts, tools, and finished products between shop areas and buildingsLoad, unload, and transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, or other equipment as neededAssist with organizing shop areas, storage locations, and workspacesPerform general shop cleaning duties, including sweeping, debris removal, and maintaining clean work areasSupport facility maintenance projects and miscellaneous repair or upkeep tasksAssist production, warehouse, and maintenance personnel with various labor tasks as neededRemove scrap material, pallets, and waste from production areasMaintain outdoor areas around buildings, including cleanup and basic grounds maintenanceFollow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirementsIdentify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance concernsMaintain a clean and organized work environment consistent with company standardsSupport special projects and other duties assigned by supervisorsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferredForklift experience or ability to become certified preferredAbility to safely use basic hand tools and shop equipmentStrong work ethic and willingness to assist in multiple areas of the facilityAbility to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a teamPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularlyAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach for extended periodsAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditionsAbility to safely operate material handling equipment and toolsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredWork EnvironmentManufacturing and industrial shop environmentExposure to noise, moving equipment, dust, and varying temperaturesMay require overtime or weekend work as neededCore CompetenciesSafety awarenessTeamwork and communicationDependability and reliabilityInitiative and willingness to helpTime managementFlexibility and adaptabilityProblem-solving skillsCompany DescriptionDallas Industries has been successfully nurturing innovation for generations, creating flexible press feeding and coil handling systems for over 50 years.
