Our laboratory works with pharmaceutical companies, compounding and hospital pharmacies, drug manufacturers, and raw material suppliers bringing excellence to pharmaceutical sciences and making pharmaceuticals safer.Under the supervision of the laboratory supervisor the Microbiologist III provides a high level of quality pharmaceutical microbiology testing as well as effective customer service to ARL Bio Pharma clients. This is a safety sensitive position as defined by state and federal laws that will require working with hazardous materials and/or handling medicine.Some highlights..Great BenefitsExcellent Work/Life BalanceFantastic work environment100% Company-paid Medica, Dental and Vision Insurance401K Retirement with Company MatchThis is a full-time roleWork Schedule: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexible hours such as early, late and weekend shift may be required.Work Restrictions: Because of vital nature of this work, we do not allow medical marijuana cards and we do random drug testing on all of our employees.Essential Functions...Testing of compounded sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticalsSterility, fungal and endotoxin testingIdentification and isolation of microorganismsParticipate in discussion with scientific and business development personnel to assess technical and operational issues including routine sample and project testing / results, SOPs and client relationsTake client calls and assist them with technical details of testingReporting of resultsAssist laboratory personnel in daily activities to maintain high scientific quality and compliance with SOPs, cGMP protocols, and safety standardsMentor and assist in the development of other laboratory personnelPosition Requirements...An AS degree in Microbiology or related science with 4+ years industrial experience ORA BS degree in Microbiology or related science with 3+ years industrial experience ORPhD degree in Microbiology or related science with 1+ years industrial experienceBachelor's degree in Microbiology with 3+ years industrial experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry is preferredAbility to collaborate and work well with othersBecause of the inter-dependent nature of our work environment, reliability and good attendance are important to success in this role.Work Environment...This job operates in a laboratory environment. Attendance at the office is required. While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently exposed to various microorganisms and may be exposed to toxic or hazardous chemicals. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, full face respirator and lab coat. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical Demands...The role requires standing for prolonged periods of time; dexterity in fingers and hands to perform complex and precise manipulations; ability to walk and stoop; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; see in the normal visual range including the ability to distinguish colors and shades and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
