About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Tooling Design Engineer to drive innovation in our production environment by architecting high-performance tooling solutions. You will leverage your expertise in CAD design and process engineering to optimize manufacturing throughput, reduce cycle times, and ensure the highest standards of product precision.
Responsibilities
Engineer robust tooling systems that directly improve manufacturing output and product quality consistency.
Partner with cross-functional departments to translate production requirements into effective technical specifications.
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of tooling projects, from initial feasibility and cost modeling to final implementation.
Direct the prototyping, validation, and testing phases to ensure tooling reliability before full-scale deployment.
Serve as the primary technical resource for production teams, troubleshooting complex tooling issues to minimize downtime.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance metrics and integrating advanced manufacturing technologies.
Manage comprehensive documentation for design iterations, modifications, and long-term maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
5+ years of professional experience in tooling design and industrial manufacturing environments.
Advanced proficiency in CAD platforms such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Deep understanding of materials science, CNC tooling, and mold repair techniques.
Proven ability to manage complex project timelines and meet rigorous production deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with injection molding processes and tool setup.
Demonstrated success in applying Lean Manufacturing methodologies to reduce waste.
Strong background in process engineering and industrial automation.
