General Manager - Fire Protection (Worcester)

About the Opportunity HV Talent Group is partnering with a well‑established, rapidly growing fire protection and life safety services organization seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead branch operations within a defined geographic territory. This role oversees all service and construction activity, drives operational performance, leads field and office teams, and partners cross‑functionally to grow revenue while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction. This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, field service‑driven environment. Position Overview Our client is seeking a seasoned General Manager with a strong business leadership background to drive growth, oversee sales and marketing initiatives, and manage operational efficiency. This role is more senior than a traditional GM, with a strong focus on strategic growth, financial oversight, and high‑level customer engagement. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Growth: Lead initiatives to acquire new customers, drive revenue growth, and expand market presence. Operational Leadership: Oversee daily business functions, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals. Team Management: Directly manage two sales professionals and coordinate with contracts, inside sales, finance, and HR teams. Financial Oversight: Responsible for P&L management with a focus on profitability, forecasting, and budget review. Customer Engagement: Represent the company professionally in front of high‑end clientele, ensuring strong relationships and business development. Strategic Planning: Work closely with leadership on growth initiatives and operational improvements. Oversee all service and construction activity within the territory. Lead day‑to‑day branch operations, ensuring efficiency and quality execution. Monitor performance metrics, revenue targets, and operational KPIs. Conduct monthly performance reviews with senior leadership. Manage field technicians, office support staff, and warehouse personnel. Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members. Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Partner with sales and construction leadership to drive territory growth. Support strategic planning and territory expansion initiatives. Track and analyze operational and sales data. Forecast performance and identify improvement opportunities. Respond to escalated customer issues and emergency calls. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Ensure safety compliance and best practices across field teams. Promote a culture rooted in responsiveness, respect, and professionalism. Review territory billing for accuracy. Partner with collections to manage receivables. Oversee local inventory and materials management. Maintain P&L awareness and operational budget discipline. Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of leadership experience in a corporate environment. Proven background in service‑based industries, such as industrial services, HVAC, or utilities. 3‑4 years of direct P&L responsibility. Strong sales background and growth‑driven mindset. Bachelor's degree required. Experience reviewing and managing monthly budgets (5‑10%). Proven success in an operational leadership or branch management role. Experience within a field service organization required. Strong preference for fire protection, life safety, HVAC, security, or related industries. Demonstrated ability to manage teams in fast‑paced environments. Strong analytical and strategic decision‑making capabilities. Working knowledge of P&L management and financial reporting. Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills. Self‑motivated, organized, and results‑driven. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience. Technical Skills General computer proficiency required. Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with field service or ERP software is a plus.
