Java ArchitectChicago, IllinoisJob Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Architect – Core Banking Technical Owner to lead and own the end-to-end Core Banking technology landscape. This role requires a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in Java Full Stack, Spring Boot, Kafka, Microservices, and AWS, along with prior exposure to leading Core Banking solutions. The ideal candidate will act as the single point of technical ownership for the Core Banking platform, driving architecture strategy, system design, scalability, modernization, and enterprise integration. Role OverviewAs the Core Banking Technical Owner, you will be responsible for defining and governing the overall architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and driving innovation across the Core Banking ecosystem. You will lead cross-functional teams, influence architectural decisions, and ensure scalable, resilient, and future-ready banking solutions. Required Skills & Experience 14+ years of hands-on experience in Java Full Stack Development Strong expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React Proven experience designing and implementing Microservices-based architectures Strong hands-on expertise in Apache Kafka for event-driven and real-time processing system. Solid experience with AWS services – EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, Glue, IAM, CloudWatchExtensive experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration Strong database expertise across SQL and NoSQL technologies Prior exposure to Core Banking platforms (TM Vault / Finacle / T24 / Flexcube or similar)Strong understanding of high-volume transactional systems and distributed architecturesProven experience leading offshore and onshore teams in a technical leadership capacity Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fieldKey Responsibilities Own and define the end-to-end architecture of the Core Banking solution Act as the Technology Owner for Core Banking applications across all environments Design scalable, secure, and resilient systems using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS Define architectural standards, governance models, and best practices Drive modernization initiatives and cloud adoption strategies Lead solution design discussions
