SOAR Clinical Supervisor

Program Information: Aldea’s Supportive Outreach and Access to Resources (SOAR) program is an Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI)/First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) clinical model that provides comprehensive assessment and treatment services to clients (ages 12-30) experiencing, or at enhanced risk of developing, early onset psychosis. The goal of the program is to intervene as early as possible to support recovery for youth and young adults with serious mental illness, improve their functioning and quality of life, and reduce long-term adverse outcomes. The foundational processes of the program are a team-based approach, specialized training and treatment approaches, community outreach, client and family engagement, and shared decision making between team members, clients, and families. The Coordinated Specialty Care treatment team positions include Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Therapist, Supported Education and Employment Specialist (SEES), Family Advocate, Peer Specialist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatrist, and Program/Clinic Coordinator. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical oversight and administrative supervision to therapists and other staff within Aldea’s SOAR program. Supervision duties include but are not limited to: maintaining supportive, collaborative working relationships with supervisees, clients and the leadership team; ensuring that services offered to clients are clinically, legally and ethically sound; enhancing the professional skills of the clinical staff; and supporting supervisees’ adherence to policies and practices that enhance the quality of programmatic and agency functioning. In addition, the candidate may also provide direct assessment, treatment and necessary collateral services to clients and families, as needed. Aldea offers flexibility with the opportunity to partially work from home, creating work-life balance for staff while also meeting client, staff, and program needs; this position will provide regular in-person leadership support at the Napa County clinic as part of their schedule. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Duties: Provide individual and group supervision, as well as training and case consultation as needed to clinicians registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, field placement practicum and other staff providing clinical services. Ensure clinical soundness of services offered through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of all assigned program staff. Exhibit proficiency in the SOAR clinical model and ensure reliability on assessment measures and program fidelity. Evaluate and co-sign clinical documentation completed by supervisees, training supervisees as needed to ensure compliance with Medi-Cal and agency requirements. Work collaboratively with other Aldea staff, including those providing psychiatric/medical and social services, quality improvement oversight and agency administrative functions. Participate in program leadership meetings and trainings, including but not limited to leadership team meetings, weekly intake meetings, clinical supervisory consultation meetings, weekly SOAR team meetings, and county compliance trainings. Demonstrate consistent and accurate application of DSM-V and possess competency with multiple therapeutic models/current evidenced based practices in relation to working with children/families. Complete routine and as-needed supervisory tasks such as monitoring productivity, communicating about caseload assignments, addressing urgent clinical Issues that arise outside of supervision, providing coverage when other supervisors go on holiday/vacation, addressing disciplinary issues, documenting supervisory sessions, approving payroll for supervisees, and providing additional supervision for supervisees regarding specific tasks/cases. Work in conjunction with Program Director to maintain onsite and on-call availability for supervisees during clinic operating hours (8am-6pm, Monday-Friday) and as needed during crisis situations to support clients and staff. Leadership/change management ability to support the delivery of decisions made in leadership team meetings to the staff; assist in communication and enforcement of new policies and procedures. Provide periodic trainings to clinical staff, and/or participate in trainings offered to the community, as requested by leadership and as appropriate, including coordinating outreach activities with the Program Director. Complete all required administrative activities in an accurate and timely manner. Other related duties as required. Agency Duties: Maintain good working relationships with County staff and providers from other agencies to facilitate coordination of care, referrals and transfers. Possess general knowledge, awareness, and support of the program CQI goals, to support program as well as the activities of supervisees. Work collaboratively with Compliance and Billing Staff to ensure accurate billing to Medi-Cal and other contract entities. Actively participate in all agency required staff meetings, fundraising, and training opportunities. Be willing to perform other related duties needed as assigned.
