BuyerLocation: San Diego, CA (Onsite)Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 Plus Bonus StructurePosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail‐oriented Buyer to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role will focus on purchase order management, supplier coordination, cost analysis, and process improvement within a fast‐paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience working with MRP systems and comes from a technical industry such as aerospace, automotive, machining, or oil & gas.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation using internal systemsMonitor order status, shipments, and supplier performance to ensure on‐time delivery and compliance with quality standardsConduct pricing, cost, and supplier analysis to support sourcing decisions and cost control initiativesCollaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, provide updates, and resolve procurement issuesCoordinate with suppliers to ensure materials and services meet delivery timelines, specifications, and contract requirementsTrack and escalate vendor performance issues while supporting supplier relationship management and continuous improvement effortsMaintain accurate purchasing records and ensure all approvals, compliance requirements, and documentation are completedSupport change orders, cost management initiatives, and process improvement projectsDevelop and maintain reporting using procurement tools to track spending, budgets, and performance metricsFollow company procurement policies while contributing to lean and continuous improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field2+ years of experience in a Buyer or procurement roleBackground in machining, aerospace, automotive, or oil & gas industriesExperience working with MRP/ERP systemsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)Knowledge of lean principles or continuous improvement methodologiesStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExperience buying engineering componentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with investment castingProfessional certifications such as APICS / ASCM (CPIM, CSCP, etc.)Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) certificationWhy This RoleOpportunity to work in a high‐impact procurement role supporting critical operationsExposure to cost control, supplier strategy, and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborative environment with growth potential within the supply chain organizationNeed to have two years of experience as a buyerExp with continuous improvement or leanNo medical device or biotechFocus in investment casting – it's like a moldPlacing orders with investment casting suppliersThey need to do the buyingInterview process – two rounds of interviews – virtual with HM Kurt, last round is onsite panel
