This is a Test Lab Engineer position where the ideal candidate will lead all Mechanical, Electrical and Stress testing for various products, utilizing LabView for Data Acquisition within a manufacturing settingClient DetailsOur client is a leading manufacturer of various output alternators and power management solutions for automotive, industrial, and military applications. Located in the near northern suburbs of Chicago, they have seen steady business growth and are looking to bolster their test engineering laboratory for customer satisfaction.DescriptionConduct testing on advanced automotive electrical system components.Create detailed test plans and comprehensive test reports.Keep precise and organized records of all test activities and results.Develop and execute tests and experiments aligned with industry standards.Safely operate rotating and high-power testing equipment.Design and build specialized test fixtures and equipment.Work closely with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and customers.Apply knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Accelerated Life Testing (HALT).Plan and carry out formal qualification and first-article functional testing.Improve and innovate processes to expand testing capabilities and capacity.Coordinate with third-party laboratories for specialized testing beyond in-house capabilities.ProfileITAR Compliance RequiredSoftware/IT Testing NOT APPLICABLEMechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree5+ years of experience in product testing, ideally in an automotive settingExperience with DAQ (Data Acquisition), specific experience with LabView strongly preferredStrong analytical and problem solving abilitiesExperience with military and automotive performance and testing standards preferredExperience with Script Programming a plusExperience with simulation tools such as PSpice, Matlab or Simulink preferredJob OfferBase salary up to around $140,000 depending on experience and interviewsDiscretionary bonus planWorld class health/medical/dental insurance401k and roth IRA plans with matchESOP planAncillary benefitsPTOHoliday closures
