Mechanic Shop Manager
Condustrial, Inc is now seeking a highly skilled and organized Mechanic Shop Manager to oversee daily operations within our service facility in Darlington, SC.
This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and shop management. The ideal candidate will coordinate technical staff, ensure quality standards are met, and maintain efficient workflow to deliver exceptional service to our customers. This position plays a vital role in fostering a productive work environment while upholding safety and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in the transit sector & demonstrate excellence in fleet maintenance & preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance
Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose and repair vehicles accurately
Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for daily operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained
Enforce safety protocols and best practices to create a secure working environment for all staff
Review repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards before customer delivery
Train and mentor team members on technical procedures, safety procedures, and customer service expectations
Develop work schedules that optimize productivity while maintaining compliance with labor regulations
Collaborate with customers to explain repairs, provide estimates, and ensure satisfaction with services rendered
Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and technician performance for reporting purposes
Manage and interface with clients.
Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
Properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
Manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats. Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
Experience
Proven experience in vehicle maintenance or automotive repair roles with strong mechanical knowledge
Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft outlook.
Technical competence with heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
Prior management experience within an automotive or mechanical shop environment
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters
Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures across various makes and models
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and inventory management
ASE or manufacture’s certifications a plus.
Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules.
Experience with Diesel, CNG, and Alternative fuels
Hours: 10-8pm or 12p-10p *Can be flexible*
Pay: $30-$28 (DOE) *Excellent benefit package once hired*
