Senior CNC Programmer Location: Newnan, GA 30265Pay Rate: $45.00 – $49.00/hr, paid weeklySchedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMDuration: 4–6 month contractOverviewSupport aerospace and industrial gas turbine operations through CNC programming, process optimization, and technical leadership. This role focuses on developing new programs, improving machining efficiency, and supporting production with high precision and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProgramming & Process DevelopmentCreate CNC programs for new development projects using part drawings or CAD models.Revise existing CNC programs to reduce machining time, extend tool life, and improve overall process efficiency.Download and validate CNC programs on machining centers including 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, lathes, turning centers, mill/turn, and EDM.Assist in generating first article prototypes for process validation.Create 3D models from blueprints for CNC programming and fixture design.Production & Technical SupportTroubleshoot machining discrepancies during production.Support production with process improvements, design changes, and cost optimization.Maintain systems ensuring only approved and current machining programs are used.Assist with fixture design, tooling selection, and implementation of machining processes.Troubleshoot general machining activities across the shop.Engineering & AnalysisConduct inspections, modeling, and analysis for turbine, compressor, and stator components.Interpret GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.Utilize measuring techniques including CMM, laser scanning, and gauges for design validation.Leadership & CollaborationLead moderate-scope project teams focused on new designs, repairs, and process improvements.Train and mentor less experienced technical staff.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other sites to develop best practices.Prepare and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.Operational ExcellenceApply Lean and CPEX tools to improve operational and financial performance.Develop and implement innovative technical solutions aligned with business objectives.Manage priorities, resources, and timelines with limited supervision.Navigate matrix organizational structures to achieve project goals.Qualifications7–12 years of experience in Aerospace or Power Generation industry.Strong CNC programming experience (5-axis milling preferred).Experience with Company NX (milling) and Company NX or GibbsCAM (turning).Extensive knowledge of machining methods, materials, and process optimization.Familiarity with FANUC controls, macro programming, and probing is a plus.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Technical KnowledgeAerospace materials including Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum alloys.Gas turbine manufacturing processes and 3D CAD modeling.Airfoil manufacturing processes including casting, machining, and inspection.Measuring technologies including CMM, white-light/laser scanning, and gauges.FAA guidelines for PMA and RS-DER compliance (preferred).Program management tools and methodologies.EducationOption 1:A.A.S.
