Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effects and discuss observations with the OT.
Ability to perform components of an appropriate assessment on all residents as related to the therapy requested and provided, and reassessments as per policy.
Able to asses patient/resident pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation - makes appropriate physician, contact for intervention.
Assists with formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Coordinates and assists with directing patient care to ensure patients/residents' needs are met and hospital/nursing home policy is followed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Required
AA Degree from a school or college approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
Current state of Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Assistant license
Current certification by the NBCOT
