MTS – Software Engineer

You’ll build applications that support the creation and review of research data. Researchers and domain experts use these tools to write tasks, inspect files and agent runs, and compare experiment results. You’ll work with them to understand what they need, develop the interfaces and services, and maintain the software as the work evolves. What you’ll work onBuild interfaces for writing tasks, reviewing files and video, inspecting agent actions, and comparing results. Develop APIs and PostgreSQL data models for tasks, reviews, files, and experiments. Connect applications to data pipelines and file storage, with input validation, appropriate permissions, and useful error handling. Work with users to improve workflows, investigate bugs, and maintain performance as datasets grow. What you’ll bringExperience building and maintaining applications used by other people. Strong skills in TypeScript and React, or Python and a backend framework such as FastAPI, with a willingness to work across the stack. Experience designing APIs and working with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL. A practical approach to testing, debugging, and incorporating feedback from users. You take initiative and follow through on your work. You’re principled in your decisions, open about uncertainty, and collaborative in how you solve problems.
