Job Shift: Days Job Type: Full Time The Charge Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates, supports and supervises other Registered Nurses in the delivery of nursing care. They ensure the nursing unit runs smoothly and efficiently and oversees the transition between shifts. The Charge Registered Nurse participates in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with leadership, ancillary staff and other members of the patient care team in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Required-Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Preferred-Academic bachelor's or master's degree in nursing MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Required- 1 year of RN experience REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current RN Licensure in the State of Texas or Compact State Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) if American Red Cross, must obtain American Heart Association within 60-days of hire ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification- within 6 months of hire/transfer date ACLS preferred - For all certifications refer to Attachment A REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES: Demonstrated proficiency and competency in acute care nursing Has effective interpersonal and communication skills and ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing Ability to use patient care equipment and has proficient computer skills Demonstrates professionalism and aligns with leadership values5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
