SummaryThe person hired for the position of a Machinist - Tooling Technician will be responsible for analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools keeping production equipment in operational condition.In This Role, You'll Have The Opportunity ToRead and understand engineering tool and mold drawings and schematicsBuild and repair close tolerance tools and mold componentsWorking knowledge of the heat treat process of tool steelsAbility to operate band saws, drill press, CNC mills, manual lathes, and grindersAnalyzes specifications, grind/fabricate and repairs metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixturesRead Blueprints, use Micrometers, Calipers and ComparatorMake tooling repairs and spot tools for proper metal fitsMaintain tooling systemsMaintain assembly line fixtures and spare parts inventoryRead blueprints & work with precise tolerancesTrouble shooting maintenance repair and fabrication of machine parts, dies, etc.May be assigned other miscellaneous duties (including training) by department supervision/leadershipStrong diagnostic skills requiredEngel, Milacron, Nissei and or other machines, lathes, mills experienceRequirementsWhat You Need To Succeed:High School DiplomaAn Associate Degree is a plusMinimum three (3) + years of experience years of experience in the tool or molding tradeExperience with mold repair a plusINDMP
