Position Title: Instructor, Work-Based LearningDivision: School-LevelReports To: Principal or DesigneeFLSA Status: ExemptSalary Schedule: TeacherWork Days: 190Essential Duties:Coordinate, administer, and monitor all school-level WBL programs in accordance with federal, state, and district rules, regulations, and guidelines for Work-Based Placement (Youth Apprenticeship).Coordinate WBL programs with industry, businesses, post-secondary institutions, private business schools, GA Department of Labor, and Henry Chamber of Commerce to establish sponsors and work sites.Coordinate with applicable staff in selecting and placing students into appropriate programs and/or work site locations; provide orientation and training for all program partners.Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress; identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve problems.Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines.Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.Observe and assess student performance and development.Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development, as well as required documentation from the DOE, i.e., C-Net, Annual Reports.Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.Participate in district, school, department, parent meetings, and WBL region meetings and conferences.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate in a CTAE discipline or be eligible for a work-based learning endorsement.Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.Ability to be present at the physical worksite.Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
