MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Grain Processing Corporation, a member of the KENT WORLDWIDE family has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Maintenance Technician in Washington, Indiana. This role will help analyze, trouble shoot, and correct mechanical problems, repair and overhaul mechanical equipment and controls throughout the process.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty mechanical components.
Plan for and perform preventative maintenance to manufacturing equipment.
Determine need for, analyze, and make necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
Perform work safely, requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical principles and relationships.
Read blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, and procedures.
Understand process flows.
Use hand, power, and shop tools to repair and maintain the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Fabricate parts by using machines and tools common to the trade, including welding.
Perform work in accordance with all safety rules and regulations and plant policies and procedures
At times, be part of a mechanical team on major installation, working with other trades, such as electricians, machinists and process employees.
Climb, bend, crawl, squat, and maneuver body into various positions in order to access all parts of equipment that require service or repair.
On scheduled off-shift, may be called upon to do emergency repairs in the process.
Perform other mechanical/maintenance duties as assigned.
Work as a team with mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians and production operators to troubleshoot and repair equipment problems in the mill.
Determine possible alternatives to planned or standard procedures.
Determine when and what PPE is required for tasks.
Determine when and what permits are necessary to complete an assigned task.
Determine pipe specification requirements.
Operate fork trucks, aerial man lifts, and other equipment.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Advanced training in mechanical maintenance a plus.
Welding Skills (Arc and Tig)
Plasma cutter and acetylene torch experience
Understanding and knowledge of tools used in maintenance
Millwright Skills
Computer Skills
Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting or equivalent. Must demonstrate a steady, consistent, and dependable work history.
OTHER:
Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shift (days, nights, weekends, and holidays).
Must be able to work overtime.
