About the Job:We are seeking an AI Storage Solution Architect to support the design, implementation, and optimization of Cloudian storage solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in distributed storage systems, cloud architecture, and enterprise-scale data management. The ideal candidate will have hands on storage administration experience. The will work closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering to deliver scalable, high-performance storage and AI solutions that meet complex business requirements.Responsibilities:Solution Design & ArchitectureDesign and architect Cloudian HyperStore solutions tailored to customer requirementsDevelop technical specifications and system diagrams per customer requirementsCreate scalable storage architectures supporting petabyte-scale deploymentsEnsure solution designs align with security, compliance, and performance requirementsCollaborate with engineering teams to influence product roadmap based on customer needsCustomer Engagement & Technical LeadershipLead technical discussions with enterprise customers during pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales phasesConduct technical workshops, proof-of-concepts, and architecture reviewsProvide technical guidance on data migration strategies and hybrid cloud integrationsServe as primary technical escalation point for complex customer issuesImplementation & OptimizationParticipate in deployment of Cloudian HyperStore clusters in on-premisesConfigure and optimize storage policies, replication strategies, and data lifecycle managementImplement monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies for production environmentsTroubleshoot complex performance and scalability issuesTechnical Consulting & SupportProvide technical expertise during sales cycles and RFP responsesDevelop best practices documentation and deployment guidesStay current with emerging storage technologies and industry trendsRequirements:Technical Expertise5+ years of experience in storage architecture, preferably with object storage systemsHands-on experience with Cloudian HyperStore installing, configuring, testing and troubleshooting or similar distributed storage platforms (Ceph, MinIO, NetApp StorageGRID)Experience with AI training and inference workflows, specifically with their I/O requirementsExperience integrating AI connectors such as PyTorch, Multi Storage Client and/or performance testing with NIXLBench and KVBenchDeep understanding of S3 API, REST protocols, and cloud storage standardsExperience with Linux system administration, networking, and virtualization technologiesProficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automationEnterprise ArchitectureProven track record designing and implementing enterprise-scale storage solutionsExperience with data center architecture, including compute, storage, and networking componentsKnowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies for large-scale environmentsUnderstanding of compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) and data governanceExperience with hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud strategiesIndustry KnowledgeStrong understanding of storage protocols (NFS, SMB, iSCSI) and file systemsExperience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack)Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectureCustomer-Facing SkillsExcellent communication and presentation skills for technical and business audiencesExperience leading customer workshops and technical training sessionsAbility to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositionsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressureExperience managing multiple customer engagements simultaneouslyPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fieldProfessional certifications in storage technologies (NetApp, Dell EMC, AWS, Azure)Experience with software-defined storage and hyper-converged infrastructureBackground in storage performance tuning and capacity planningPrevious experience in technical sales or customer success rolesKnowledge of AI/ML workloads and edge computingTravel RequirementsThis position requires approximately 25-40% travel to customer sites, conferences, and company events.Cloudian, Inc provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.
