Flagstaff's tourism economy depends on strong year-round visitation from international travelers across all four seasons, and this role plays a vital part in growing those global connections. The position is responsible for direct sales, strategic marketing, and relationship building with travel agencies, tour operators, agents, influencers, and media partners in key countries around the world. In addition, the International Travel Trade Manager will lead sales and marketing efforts for the domestic motorcoach market, helping showcase Flagstaff as a premier destination for adventure, culture, outdoor recreation, and unforgettable travel experiences. By applying to this position, you are opening yourself to the opportunity to work in a critical division program and make a significant impact on the community we serve.Examples of the Work PerformedEXAMPLES OF THE WORK PERFORMEDProvides excellent customer service to both internal and external customersLiaison for the CVB with international marketing partners such as Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT), Brand USA and US TravelPromotes Flagstaff as a premier visitor destination including traveling regionally and internationally, meeting with/presenting to travel agents, tour operators, dignitaries, key decision makers, and occasionally meeting with international mediaGenerates quality leads for Flagstaff hotels, restaurants, and tourism-related businesses with the goal of generating increased Bed, Board, and Beverage (BBB) revenues for the city and communityPlans, executes, and implements sales efforts such as tradeshow participation, sales missions, including potential stakeholder attendance, setting appointments, creating trip reports for stakeholders and following up on leadsPlans all marketing and ad buys with international marketing partners such as AOT, Brand USA and US Travel with approval by the CVB DirectorConducts research to determine which programs would best benefit the Flagstaff tourism industryProvides input on the annual budget for Tour and Travel sales and manages expendituresDevelops presentations and trainings for specified markets and programsGuides development of prospective markets and generates strategies and action plans to promote FlagstaffConducts outreach and marketing efforts to promote Flagstaff as a tour and travel destinationDevelops long and short-range tracking programs to ensure return on investment and generates reports for specified marketsWorks to strengthen international and domestic visitation to the community including identifying appropriate stakeholder relationships for tour operators and domestic bus tour groups considering the areaIdentifies and implements strategies for action to improve overall increase in visitation especially from our top producing international marketsGenerates statistical reports, cobbles information, and plans in connection with the International Travel Trade ProgramAnalyzes demographics, budgets, and financial information and prepares comprehensive reports regarding the planning and implementation of international visitation for FlagstaffPlans and executes meetings, familiarization tours, site tours, and industry functions including preparing itineraries, organizing events, securing hotels, dining, and meeting accommodationsServes as liaison between clients and stakeholders requiring direct and indirect contract negotiationsBuilds and maintains stakeholder and client relationshipsProvides in-market support to groups as required or requestedMaintains current information on tour operators, meeting planners, and other target organizationsProvides input for CVB generated sales collateral including developing content for CVB information packets, online resources, and other marketing materialsKnowledge of the northern Arizona region to create customized itineraries for a variety of tour operatorsPerforms any related duties that further the mission of the Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau To review the full job description, click here: QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, and/or businessTwo (2) years of experience in travel trade sales and/or programing at the hotel level, attraction serving visitors or with a convention and visitor bureauOr any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the above Minimum RequirementsDESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGMaster's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations and/or businessThree (3) or more years of experience in travel trade sales and/or programingDestination Marketing Organization/Convention and Visitor Bureau experience in travel tradeFluency in language(s) in addition to English OTHER REQUIREMENTSMust possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver's licenseExperience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and the internetRegular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuityMust possess a valid passport upon hireIrregular work hours and travel as necessary for sales and marketing activitiesSupplemental InformationCURRENT COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and positive work environment.
