Join us in our mission to transform the power of diagnostics into a healthier future for all.Job Title: Supply Planning InternThe RoleQuidelOrtho is looking for a Supply Planning Intern that wants to spend their summer working towards our mission: Changing Lives, One Test at a Time. Interns will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop their skills all while contributing to key company projects and initiatives. Our team will help students apply their educational background and broaden their knowledge base within their role and learn more about working in the medical device/biotech industry. Interns will work with a mentor(s) on a guided and impactful project and will be able to collaborate with and be part of a supportive and dedicated team.Gain hands-on experience with planning (SAP), inventory control, BOM management, capacity alignment, and cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics.This Internship is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid program for 10 -12 weeks.Session 1: June 15th through August 17thSession 2: July 6th through September 7thOffice Location: Rochester, NY- Students must be in the area for duration of the program. QuidelOrtho is unable to provide housing accommodations.The ResponsibilitiesReview material availability against production schedules and identify risks to supply.Support updating planning parameters (safety stock, lead times, min/max settings, lot-sizing strategies).Help cleanse and maintain master data for materials, BOMs, and planning views.Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, consumables, reagents, components, and WIP to avoid shortages or excess.Perform root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and work with Materials Management to resolve issues.Assist with slow-moving/obsolete inventory reviews and propose corrective actions.Analyze alignment of supply plans with production schedules and forecasted demand.Support the creation and communication of weekly supply plans to Operations and Procurement.Participate in daily tier meetings to address constraints, material risks, and schedule adherence.Prepare and update planning and inventory dashboards (e.g., service level, attainment, shortages, aging inventory).Use SAP, Excel, and planning tools to extract and interpret data for decision-making.Participate in projects aimed at improving MRP accuracy, inventory optimization, and site planning processes.Support kaizen/lean initiatives focused on reducing supply variability and improving process transparency.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.The IndividualRequired:Currently pursuing a degreeCuriosity and willingness to understand technical aspects of diagnostic products and their manufacturing processes.Comfortable asking questions and challenging data anomalies.Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Must be at least 18 years old.Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program in the Fall Semester 2026 at an accredited university or college.Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher.Able to start on either June 15th or July 6th.Ability to complete a consecutive 10-week internship.Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.Preferred:Strong analytical mindset; comfortable working with datasets and process flows.Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts).Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems preferred (SAP experience is a plus).Strong communication skills; able to work cross-functionally in a regulated environment.Ability to organize priorities and work independently with guidance.The Work EnvironmentNo strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work.Salary TransparencyThe salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary range for current Freshman, rising Sophomore is $18.00/hour; Sophomore, rising Junior is $20.00/hour; Junior, rising senior is $23.00/hour to $26.00/hour; Senior, enrolled in school for fall 2026 is $25.00/hour to $28.00/hour; or currently enrolled Graduate, MBD, PhD program is $28.00/hour to $30.00/hour.
