Briefing Attorney
We are seeking a Briefing Attorney for a law firm client in Houston, TX. This position will support the firm's litigation practice with high-level legal research, analysis, and written advocacy. This role is ideal for an attorney who prefers substantive legal work—drafting, analyzing, and shaping arguments—without the demands of discovery or managing the day-to-day matters of a case. What You’ll DoDraft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda across a range of litigation mattersConduct in-depth legal research and provide strategic analysisCollaborate with attorneys on case strategy and positioningReview and refine filings to ensure clarity, precision, and persuasivenessSupport dispositive motion practice and appellate workRequirementsJ.D. and licensed in good standing with a U.S. state barExperience working in a briefing capacity with a judicial court or reputable law firmStrong legal research and writing skills (this is the core of the role)Must have drafted at least five appellate briefsNice to Have (Not Required)Background in commercial or employment litigation mattersExperience in federal court and complex litigationPrior clerkship or briefing-focused roleWhy This RoleOpportunity to work in office (Houston) or fully remoteHandle substantive legal workCollaborative team environment without the typical demands of a full caseload
