Construction Services RepresentativeJOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Great River Engineering (GRE) is looking for a Construction Representative. Typical projects are civil engineering public infrastructure projects for cities, counties, state agencies, and private developers. Example projects are bridges, site development, water/sewer, roadways and sidewalks. Under general supervision, you will provide on-site representation support on projects to check construction compliance with plans, specifications and contract documents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsibilities will include but are not be limited to the following: Read and interpret plans, details, specifications, and other contract documents. Recognize and report noted deviations from the contract documents. Provide accurate and thorough daily inspection reports and photo documentation. Perform field materials sampling and testing that includes tests for: concrete slump and air content, concrete compressive specimens, compaction, moisture, and aggregate gradation. Review and approve contractor's application for payment and change orders including measuring and calculating quantities. Check layout and dimensions of work by utilizing tools and instruments.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally in a construction job site environment but occasionally will perform office work. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible and some late evenings and/or weekends may be required. TRAVELTravel is expected and will generally be within a four-hour radius of assigned office. Company vehicle use or personal mileage reimbursement will be provided.
