The Electrical Apprentice supports licensed electricians and journeyman electricians with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial electrical systems. This role is designed for individuals learning the electrical trade through hands-on field experience, on-the-job training, and instruction while working under appropriate supervision and adhering to all applicable safety regulations, electrical codes, and company standards.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist licensed electricians and journeyman electricians with the installation, assembly, modification, and repair of electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, and electrical components used in commercial applicationsSupport routine maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, fixtures, motors, and control devices under supervisionAssist with troubleshooting electrical system issues, including power failures, control malfunctions, and equipment connectivity problemsLearn to interpret and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawingsMeasure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit and pull wire as directedAssist with testing and verification of electrical systems using appropriate meters and diagnostic tools under supervisionPrepare, organize, and maintain tools, materials, parts, and equipment needed for assigned workCommunicate work progress, questions, and jobsite needs to supervisors, electricians, technicians, and project team membersComplete assigned tasks in a professional manner that meets customer and company standardsMaintain accurate notes and documentation as directed, including work performed, materials used, test results, and photosComply with all company policies, jobsite procedures, and applicable electrical and safety codesMaintain a clean, organized work area and properly care for assigned tools and equipmentTravel to various job sites as requiredPerform other related duties within the scope of an electrical apprenticeship as assignedRequired Skills And QualificationsInterest in building a career in the electrical trade and willingness to learn through hands-on trainingBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and power tools safelyAbility to follow directions, established procedures, and detailed work instructionsAbility to read and interpret basic technical information, with a willingness to develop blueprint and electrical drawing skillsStrong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management skillsDependable, safety-focused, and able to maintain productivity and quality standards under supervisionPrior experience with commercial, industrial, construction, maintenance, or trade work preferred but not requiredCertifications and EducationHigh school diploma or GED preferredEnrollment in or willingness to enroll in an electrical apprenticeship program or related trade training preferredOSHA safety training preferredValid state driver’s license required and must be maintainedAdditional electrical, construction, or safety training preferredPhysical Requirements And Working ConditionsRegularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull Must be able to lift, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds Work is performed in commercial and industrial environments, including indoor and outdoor settingsExposure to moderate noise levels, energized equipment, and varying temperatures Additional InformationThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
