Dietary Cook
Position OverviewMission Valley Post Acute is looking for a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents' dietary needs while supporting their overall health and satisfaction. Your work will directly contribute to a positive dining experience and quality of care.Key Responsibilities* Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards* Adjust meals to meet special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times* Assist with monitoring inventory and notifying leadership of supply needs* Store and label food properly to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance* Work collaboratively with dietary staff and clinical team to meet residents' nutritional needs* Support meal service and ensure proper portion controlQualifications* Prior cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred* Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus* Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)* Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices* Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment* Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality* Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindsetSchedule* Full-time position* Availability to work weekends and holidays as neededBenefits* Competitive pay ranging from $18-$20 per hour* Health, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible employees)* Paid time off and holiday pay* Opportunities for professional growth and advancementEqual Opportunity EmployerMission Valley Post Acute is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
