The ideal candidate will have a solid background in trading infrastructure, user interfaces, and networks. This role demands excellent development skills, a deep understanding of data architecture, and an entrepreneurial approach to design.Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote. The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts. There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.Job ResponsibilitiesForm a thorough understanding of current backend technologies used to support our institutional trading platformsCreate common backend components that work across each of our trading front-endsArchitect components to maximize data scalability between our trading infrastructure and front-endsOptimize market data communication between our web-based technology and on-prem trading architectureEnhance trading system experience by building new tools driven by client requestWork with our data team to enrich our market data with insightful correlated data eventsGood understandingof Microservices architecture, Java Spring framework, REST/WebSocket API and DockerQualifications5+ years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Core Java and Node.js (TypeScript)Expertise in building scalable, high-performance backend services using Spring Boot and modern Node.js frameworks (Express/NestJS)Strong experience with asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and non-blocking I/O in Node.jsSolid understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and synchronization patterns in JavaHands-on experience designing and implementing distributed systems and microservices architecturesProficiency with Kafka, Redis, RESTful APIs, and Java Collections frameworkExperience working with RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and data modeling best practicesFamiliarity with API design, service orchestration, and backend integration patternsStrong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and system reliability principlesExperience with caching strategies, messaging systems, and real-time data processingAdditional InformationTradeweb is committed to providing valuable and competitive benefits.
