ABOUT THE POSITION At Managed Moves, we value more than just physical strength; we prioritize candidates with exceptional soft skills. While a significant portion of your day will indeed involve moving furniture and getting a fantastic workout, what sets us apart is our commitment to go the extra mile for our clients. No prior moving experience is necessary. We provide training to set you up for success. As a team member, your typical day would kick off at 8am with a crew meeting to discuss the day's agenda. You'll then work together to prepare the trucks, ensuring they're equipped and ready for the day's tasks. Throughout the day, you'll meet and assist senior-aged clients, providing them with compassionate and professional service as you relocate them to their new home. Your responsibilities will extend beyond simply transporting belongings; you'll play an important role in ensuring our clients feel comfortable and settled in their new home by the end of the day. TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT We pride ourselves on creating growth opportunities for our team members. There are opportunities to get additional training and responsibilities as you grow with the company. Opportunities include training as a crew lead, driving a box truck (no CDL required), and loading the truck. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS 1+ years labor experience (preferred) 1+ years customer service experience (preferred) Healthy lifestyle enabling you to perform physically demanding tasks (repeatedly lifting up to 70lbs) Clean criminal background in the last 5 years Reliable transportation Smart phone Driver Qualifications 2+ years box truck driving experience or similar (preferred, but will train for the right candidate) 21+ years old (required for insurance) Ability to obtain a DOT medical card Clean driving record for the last 3 years (with some exceptions) PREFERRED SKILLS Due to our very specific and sensitive clientele we expect the following from our team members: Excellent communication skills and a calm demeanor, even in stressful situations Good at developing a compassionate rapport with the client to instill trust and convey competence ROLES & COMPENSATION Movers start at $18.00/hr for client hours, $15.95/hr for drive time to the job. Drivers start at $20.00/hr for all hours. Pay will increase to $21.50/hr + bonus opportunities after successful completion of load and lead training. As a growing company, we are always developing new roles and opportunities for promotion. Annual review increases. Overtime pay for over 40hrs/wk + over 10hrs/day. Tips (Avg. $4.00/hr) Flexible paid time off. WORK HOURS We service clients Monday – Saturday from 8am-8pm. Full-time employees can expect an average of 30-50 hrs/week. Part-time employees can expect an average of 20-30 hrs/week.
