Our innovative approach requires overcoming significant technical challenges, making this an exciting and dynamic environment for experienced engineers and manufacturing professionals.Position OverviewAllen Control Systems is seeking a hands-on Shop Technician to support daily shop operations, including retaping threaded holes, performing light fabrication work, building shipping crates, and assisting with general shop tasks. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position will be a contract opportunity.What You'll DoRetape threaded holes to required specifications and tolerancesInspect and clean parts prior to rework or assemblyBuild custom shipping crates and packaging for outgoing productsOperate basic shop tools and equipment (hand tools, power tools, drill press, etc.)Measure and verify part dimensions using basic measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, etc.)Assist with light fabrication and general shop support tasksMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow work instructions, shop procedures, and safety guidelinesSupport shipping and receiving activities as neededWhat You'll NeedPrior experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or fabrication environment preferredBasic understanding of mechanical components and threaded fastenersAbility to read basic work instructions and use measuring toolsStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periodsAllen Control Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer, providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
